App for improved club operations
The association Vinterbadeklub Aarhus Ø needed a unified platform for their members, so they developed an app that could do it all.
Background information
In the heart of Aarhus lies Havnebadet on Aarhus Ø, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and realised with a generous donation from Købmand Herman Sallings Fond. Vinterbadeklub Aarhus Ø is an association dedicated to winter swimmers, and the app has been developed for its members to improve and simplify administration and engagement in the club’s activities.
Real-time wind, weather & visits
With real-time data on wind, weather, visitors and water temperature. With this information, the app provides members with the most important information so they can plan their visit as optimally as possible.
Member activities in Vinterbadeklub Aarhus Ø
In the app, members can quickly and easily sign up for the various club activities and orientate themselves in the overall overview. The enrolment flow is designed so that enrolment takes place in just a few taps.
Guest tickets
The app also includes the purchase of guest tickets, making it easy for members to invite friends and family to experience Vinterbadeklubben. This feature not only promotes the club as an open and welcoming community, but also generates additional revenue to support the club and its activities.
Implementation, design and use going forward
The app design and project was based on a study of the members’ needs and their needs in terms of technical infrastructure. The design process involved close collaboration with Vinterbadeklubben Aarhus Ø to ensure that we created a functional, but also aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly app. The overall solution is a great example of how traditional club activities can be improved through digital solutions that both enhance the member experience but also modernise the way the club is run.
