Swift: Native iOS development in the Swift programming language

We have been developing in Swift since its release in 2014 and therefore have many years of experience with the programming language.

All our native iOS solutions are written in Swift

Swift is a dynamic programming language created by Apple and supported by an active open-source community. Since its initial release in 2014 (along with Xcode 6), Swift has undergone significant updates and improvements, making it a super robust and modern language for iOS development.

At Makeable, we have been developing in Swift from the very beginning and have therefore built up considerable expertise over the years – not least with the newer frameworks that have been released over the years.

Swift frameworks

  • Swift UI
An innovative and easy-to-use framework introduced by Apple in 2019. It is designed to make it easier, faster and more intuitive to build user interfaces (GUIs) across all Apple platforms.
  • Combine
A reactive programming framework from Apple that handles asynchronous events over time. It uses concepts like Publishers and Subscribers to manage data streams and react to changes.
  • Alamofire
A popular Swift-based HTTP networking library that simplifies network development. It handles complex network operations and makes it easier to work with HTTP requests.
  • Core Data
A framework from Apple that helps store and organise data in apps – kind of like having a virtual “drawer” to keep track of information. It’s especially useful when you want to store data on your device so you can access it even when you’re offline.
